Privacy

We don't collect personal data.

The short version: no account required, no forms to fill, no tracking cookies set without your consent. Last updated 27 July 2026.

What we collect

Nothing personally identifying. We don't ask for your name, email address, postcode, or vehicle registration. The quiz answers stay in the URL on your device — we don't store them on a server.

Analytics and ad measurement

If you accept the cookie banner, we use two things:

  • Vercel Analytics — cookie-less, aggregates page-view counts across all visitors. Doesn't identify you individually.
  • Google Analytics 4 — sets first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_XXXXX) to measure how the site is used and to attribute visits from our paid ads on Google Ads. IP addresses are anonymised before storage.

If you reject the banner, neither loads any cookies. Google Analytics does still send anonymised "cookieless pings" via Google's Consent Mode v2 so basic traffic modelling works, but no persistent identifier is set on your device.

You can change your choice any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

Google Analytics cookies in detail

Only set if you accept the cookie banner. All are first-party (set on coverkit.co.uk), not shared with third parties beyond Google's own analytics infrastructure.

  • _ga — anonymous visitor ID. Two-year expiry.
  • _ga_XXXXXXXXXX — session state for your GA4 property. Two-year expiry.

To opt out of Google Analytics across every site that uses it, install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Paid-ad attribution

When you visit CoverKit from a Google Ads or similar paid campaign, the incoming URL carries campaign identifiers (utm_source, gclid). If you accept the cookie banner, Google Analytics uses those to attribute the visit to the ad that brought you here. That measurement is aggregated in Google Analytics reports and never linked to any personally identifying information on our side.

Affiliate links

When you click through to a provider (AA, RAC, Green Flag, etc.), that provider's own tracking takes over. We may receive a referral fee. Your data after the click is governed by the provider's privacy policy, not ours.

See our affiliate disclosure for the full picture.

Third-party services we use

  • Vercel — hosting + anonymous page-view analytics. Analytics only loads if you accept the cookie banner.
  • Google Analytics 4 — page usage measurement and paid-ad attribution. Only loads its cookies if you accept the cookie banner.
  • DuckDuckGo Icon Service — loads provider favicons from icons.duckduckgo.com. No cookies, no personal data.
  • Provider domains — when you click through to a provider's own site via an affiliate link.

No data is sent to any of these except what the browser sends automatically to load a page or image (IP address, browser version).

Local storage on your device

One entry, always: a record of your cookie-banner choice under the key coverkit-consent so we don't ask again on every visit. That's it — no other data is written to your browser by us directly.

Your rights under UK GDPR

Because we don't hold personal data, most data-subject rights (access, rectification, erasure) have nothing to act on. If you believe we hold data about you, email hello@coverkit.co.uk and we'll respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

We'll update the "last updated" date above when we change anything substantive. Material changes will also be flagged at the top of the page for 30 days after they ship.
